I've done research on the up and coming 'Wii U' which is getting released in the UK on November 30th, although it's being released in the US on the 18th of November.
Prices in the US for the Wii U are set at $249.99 for the 8GB model and $349.99 for the 32GB version. However, Nintendo won't comment on the UK price because, it says, retailers are required by law to set their own prices - something that hasn't been a problem for any other tech firm on the face of the Earth. Nevertheless, Nintendo says if you want to know how much the Wii U UK price will be, you'll have to visit your favourite retailers' websites. And early indications are that the 8GB Nintendo Wii U will cost £249.99 while the 32GB model will cost £299. The Wii U is apparently quite modest in comparison to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, it has been noted that Nintendo is being very cagey on the subject and prefers to promote the new experiences the Wii U can offer rather than talk about CPUs and graphics chips.
The GamePad Controller
Where other consoles have buttons and sticks, the Nintendo Wii U has a tablet: the GamePad is a 6.2-inch, 16:9 ratio LCD touchscreen with traditional buttons and twin analogue sticks.
Powered by a rechargeable battery and weighing around 500g, the GamePad has an accelerometer, gyroscope and geomagnetic sensor for motion control, a front-facing camera and microphone for video chat, stereo speakers, rumble feedback and a stylus. The controller allows the player to play the current game even if the television is switched off.
Nintendo has stated that the Wii U will support 1080p graphics and have twenty times the size of memory than the original Wii had. The ideas for the Wii U first bloomed in 2008 as Nintendo had discovered many restrictions and problems with the Wii. Nintendo had originally created the Wii for core gamers but soon discovered that the Wii was a console for casual gamers so they are soon to introduce the Wii U hoping that it will cause the return of core gamers to play Nintendo consoles once again. Nintendo has previously failed to attract the audience of gamers who are fonder of the Xbox or rival PlayStation and to attract these gamers they have now assured greater support of third-party games on the Wii U.
